Well it was quite the day. Plenty of our MLK Family & Friends Program participants are starting to buy into the program, even as we are still in the process of tweaking it, as well as learning things on the fly. The whole point of the actual MLK Humanity Project is to empower others to empower themselves. By being completely open and honest about my life, poor choices and all, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to deal with our friends on a one on one basis, should they so choose to want to speak on their situation. It’s a very sobering reality to be in a position in my life to be the one to offer counsel to those that I seek it from someone who’s been there and done that. In this case with that someone being myself! Case in point, today we ran across our friend Jerry, and for the first time, he told us he was ready to get help. Now I’m gonna leave it at that, because he and I have agreed to meet up tomorrow to determine what’s the best course of action. I will most certainly keep y’all posted on what we decide, because we will certainly be turning to y’all for advice, and hopefully support!! Jerry is one of 2 such meetings I’m having tomorrow, and that’s the beautiful thing about this project, because it allows us to form true relationships with people who might otherwise not open up to strangers per say. To be very honest, I’m thrilled to know that after knowing of Jerry for over 16 months, we are finally getting to know Jerry, and that’s saying a lot. (If you know Jerry! 🤗) This will hopefully lead to great things for Jerry, as well as our friend Eric, as they turn the page in their books of life, to new and more promising chapters!! ❤️🤞🏾 Other than amazing day of fellowship and community outreach, we just we really met a lot of pets today!! Go figure! Our love is unconditional and all encompassing. We love life, and that includes our four legged friends!! (Even spiders!!🥺8 legs!🥺🙄) A life is a life, and all life has value!! Too much maybe, but it’s how I roll!! ✊🏾✌🏾&❤️So with that, we are off to do the grunt work, shopping, and we will see y’all next week in the streets of Vallejo!! So please enjoy the rest of your weekend! Tell the ones you love that you love them, before you can’t!! Always remember to be kind to others! Peace, and May God continue to Bless Us All!! ✌🏾🙏🏾 P.S. To date the MLK Humanity Project has served 10,510 sack lunches, homemade meals, hot and cold cereal breakfasts, and family packages throughout the Vallejo area. It is our profound commitment to continue to help those who want to help themselves, and those who no longer can!! ❤️🖤💚💛 P.S.S. We want to thank the many people who do what they do to support us. From the donors to the volunteers!! It’s all for naught without the support that you provide us. We certainly appreciate all of kind words as well. However, we like to say that liking us is lovely, but sharing is caring!! So please help us spread the word. If you want to help and are unable to donate, then donate your good karma and share our message with those who you feel are likeminded individuals!l Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well!! Thank you!!!👍🏾 “SOMETIMES GOD BLESSES OTHERS THROUGH US!!”🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 424EVR

I used to believe in good and bad luck, but not anymore. The word I think that’s most appropriate for what is termed as luck, is “Karma”! Things don’t always go well, just ask our friends, however, as I’ve grown to know the calming beauty of embracing inner peace, I know that your attitude, more often than not, is your latitude. No matter how bad it seems, if you delve into a negative frame of mind, you will eventually find yourself inundated with negative thoughts. Now thoughts lead to actions, and if they’re negative, one can only surmise that the results of negative actions are negative consequences. I can only use myself as an example, but when I decided to change my thinking, I inevitably decided to change my situation, and therefore my life. I would be lying if I said I weren’t two missed paychecks from being in a bad way, however I don’t focus on that. I focus on pushing it to 3 checks, then 4, then 5, and you probably get where this is going. The point we stress to our friends is that just because your situation is what it is now, doesn’t mean it has to be that way a year, a month, a week, or even a minute from now, because the minute you change your thinking, you change your life course. For example, today I met a guy who has been struggling with his addiction to alcohol. Immediately I felt sincere empathy for him, but not pity. I told him point blank, that I had my own struggles with alcohol for a myriad of reasons, and my drinking was the source of many problems, both legal and personal. Now no judge, no friends, and not even family members could convince me to change. I changed when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. So I told the gentleman as much. Change, true change can only come from within, and as hard as it may be, he must stop making excuses and start making changes. It’s that simple. Sensing that he really needed to talk, I told him that unfortunately I had to go. We had to finish our program, but that if he wanted, we could talk over breakfast tomorrow. He accepted, and it’s my hope that he’s where we agreed to meet tomorrow morning at 10!🤞🏾 If not, I hope he really understands, as we all should, that no one person is better than the next. However, as individuals we must ask ourselves are we better than our situation, and if your answer to yourself is “yes”, then it is incumbent upon you the individual to change it. If you love you, then others will follow your lead!! ❤️🖤💚💛 With that said, we hope you have a wonderful day, and encourage you to treat yourselves and others well. And remember, it cost nothing to simply be kind, and a smile goes a long way!! On that note, Peace, and May God continue to Bless Us All!!✌🏾🙏🏾 P.S. To date the MLK Humanity Project has served 10,370 sack lunches, homemade meals, hot and cold cereal breakfasts, and family packages throughout the Vallejo area. It is our profound commitment to continue to help those who want to help themselves, and those who unfortunately no longer can!! ❤️🖤💚💛 P.S.S. Thank you to all of our donors. We were blessed by a few new and some return donors this week, and it was all right on time. We are always looking for support, however we will always do what we can, with whatever we have!! If you like us, it’s lovely, however, sharing is caring, so help us spread the word!! 🤗 We encourage you to follow us on Instagram and visit our website. https://www.mlkhumanityproject.com/ @moreloveandkindness “SOMETIMES GOD BLESSES OTHERS THROUGH US!”🙏🏾 #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 424EVR Well the first day of the MLK Family and Friends Program is officially a done deal! To put it modestly, it was a success. We provided 100 sack lunches, and toiletries to everyone we encountered, but most importantly, we were able to implement a system which dealt with the disbursement of specific goods based on need, but also participation in a program designed to help one help oneself. It also allows us to learn more about our friends strengths and deficiencies, and most importantly, it allows us to learn their names, and build relationships. Seeing how smoothly things were going, without hesitation we had more people sign up for participation in the program next month already. To join the program, you must sign up the month before you begin to participate, which in turn allows us to get and maintain an accurate count by which we plan our entire run, with regards to how much product to prepare and take out. We are still in the early developmental stages of it, so I won’t go to far into detail, since change is inevitable. Other than that bit of news, it was also a very cold day, and it’s getting colder. We are officially out of blankets, as my wife and I had to go back out to give what few blankets we had left, including one of our comforters that was doing no one any good just sitting folded in the closet. With all that’s going on around us, like fires, and unnecessary Government Shutdowns, people are either finding themselves homeless, or on the brink of it, so don’t think you’re exempt from a bad turn. That’s why we think it’s important to help those who are just in a bad way, be it from self inflicted wounds, or the nefarious acts of others. Whatever the reason, we don’t judge. Our only requirement is that you are in need and want some help. For that reason, amongst many, it’s our mission to provide more services as we grow, but it’s a slow process, and one that takes due diligence, proper planning, and purposeful application. It’s my true belief that whatever community you live in, you should do your part to make it better, and do your part to build a sense of unity. It’s the only way to have a loving and thriving community. But hey I’m no Dr. Phil, it’s just my heartfelt opinion, and nothing more, but certainly nothing less. I know that as a race, not black, not white, not anything, just the Human Race, we are better than what we’re choosing to be. 🤔 Just a thought, so I hope you make the personal choice to get in the game of brotherly love!! ❤️🖤💚💛 So that said, have a great evening doing what makes you happy. Tell the ones you love that you love them. Always remember to be kind to others. And oh yeh, Peace and May God continue to Bless Us All!! ✌🏾🙏🏾 P. S. To date the MLK Humanity Project has served 10,250 sack lunches, homemade meals, hot and cold cereal breakfasts, and family packages throughout the Vallejo area. It is our profound commitment to continue to help those who want to help themselves, and those who unfortunately no longer can. So See you in the streets next Saturday Vallejo!! P.S.S. Special thanks to all of our wonderful donors, volunteers, and supporters, past present, and future. The MLK Humanity Project is a true grassroots organization , and without the support of others, none of this would be happening. So again, “Thank you!!”🤗 As always, likening us is lovely, but sharing is caring, so help us spread the word!! We aren’t shy about asking for help, so in addition to asking for your help to spread the word!! Always fight the power and vote!! ✊🏾✊🏼✊🏻 #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 424EVR Well we made it just in the nick of time!! The rain held off long enough for us to pass out 100 sack lunches today, amongst other things, to our friends in need in the wonderful city of Vallejo!! That’s right, wonderful!!! As always, it was a beautiful experience, and there was plenty of need, however I was personally blessed to see so many people that I honestly thought were gone, and that’s not always gone in a good way. Though it is bittersweet to still see them struggling, it’s always nice to know that people are at least still alive and kicking, and still hanging in there. For instance, one of our friends had been out of pocket for months, and we were worried about him, just for him to tell me that he’s been busy working at his new job all this time!! Right on!! 👍🏾 All in all, for such a seemingly gloomy day, you couldn’t miss the light that was ever present, and you can interpret that any way you’d like! Today reminded me that what we do really does matter to the ones we help, and that’s enough for me. I won’t be long winded today, because it’s off to work for me. So with that said, have a wonderful rest of your day. Tell the ones you love that you love them before you can’t! Always remember to be kind to others!! Peace, and May God continue to Bless Us All!! ✌See you in the streets next week Vallejo!!
