Well June is almost in the rear view mirror, and it was quite the month. As always, life has thrown us a curveball, and as always, we were ready to face the challenge. Having started back to work ourselves has forced us to modify and grow our Sack Lunch Program. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to do our Healthy Start Breakfast Program due to the new schedule conflicts. However, as a result we tried some new ideas, and a popular one has turned out to be a soup and sandwich combo, which is our sack lunch served with a hot cup of Ramen noodles. It turned out to be very well received. In addition we added another vehicle to the caravan in order to provide more lunches and services to more locations, because there is a dramatic increase in the number of individuals in need that we are seeing. With July 3rd being our next outing, it’s our hope to reinstate the Healthy Start Breakfast Program before the month’s end. So see y’all next month in the streets of Vallejo.
