Well it was the end of the month, and it was extra busy, but that was to be expected. We saw lots of new faces, as well as new encampments which are deeply entrenched in the brush areas around the city of Vallejo. It’s becoming a challenge to keep our friends hopeful, because the resources simply aren’t there in the ways they need to be. We were able to run our program effectively yesterday, however we will have to up the meal count, due to a consistent rise in numbers of faces, mostly transient. We were able to sign up a lot of people for our program and it will serve to give us the information needed to be best prepared for the lunch runs on Saturdays. We will be actively seeking support in the form of donations, both financial and products, and volunteerism. Until then, we will certainly stay the course, as we try our best to send a message that resonates with our friends, because it’s only getting worse, and we can’t stand by and just let it happen. So see you in the streets of Vallejo next week!

Every now and then, we have a day that is very low key, and for all accounts pretty non eventful. Well this past Saturday was one of those days. There were plenty of people to serve, and every face was an appreciative one. We met some new people, and we saw some old faces, that quite frankly we were beginning to worry about. We also met even more new little furry friends, and as always the ladies showered them with love. It is truly amazing to see how the pets have come around and opened their hearts up to us. It speaks to the message of building relationships to effectuate change! Next Saturday we will be ready to serve our friends, and we will certainly keep sharing and spreading a message of hope and love. The hope is to inspire our friends to get reengaged in their own efforts to better their situations and move into a realm of the self sufficient. We love them and we know they can do it with or without us, however when their is a support group, the struggle is less burdensome and more easily overcome! See you in the streets of Vallejo next week!!
Please follow us us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!! #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 It’s been an incredibly solid start to the MLK FAMILY & FRIENDS PROGRAM. With this past Saturday being the day that the rules would be adhered to 100%, we expected some difficulties with regards to people not having their membership cards. However, it was quite the opposite. We had quite a few people who did have their cards, and they were able to reap the full benefits of participation in the new program. Those who didn’t have their cards, or those who have yet to enroll, were unable to receive the extras they come with the program, but they were still able to receive a lunch, a toiletry bag, Bombas socks, and a prescription discount card, courtesy Pippen Dew, Vice Mayor of Vallejo. All in all it was a rather smooth and efficient run. We finished the day with the delivery of some items to one of our families, and were back to home base by 12:30. We anticipate the interaction of program participants to increase as people start to see the benefits from being enrolled. Regardless of participation or not, out program I’d designed to help anyone, and the amount of help we give is predicated in the willingness of the participants to get engaged in their own emotional, financial, and situational recovery. Some of our friends are far too gone to assimilate back into the main vein of society without permanent assistance, and we are actively looking for ways to help them as well. Eventually, professionals would have to step in, as we don’t ya e all the resources required to sustain a lifelong commitment to our friends just yet! I’m closing we hope that you will find it in your heart to give, and ask that you consider doing so, and if not to us, then to a group you seem worthy of supporting! Other than that, ha e a wonderful week, and we will see you in the streets of Vallejo next Saturday morning!! #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 Follow is on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! On such a beautiful holiday weekend in the Bay, one couldn’t ask for more perfect weather. As we went out yesterday, it was clear that it was gonna be a special day. As it would turn out, it was special for many reasons, but above all others, we saw a bunch of furry friends in need. Thankfully we were amply prepared to meet the demand. With so many factors playing a key role in the success or failure of a person to stabilize, cope, and rebuild, animals are key and integral. They provide our friends with comfort, companionship, and love, all of which are mutual and reciprocal! Since it was and still is the holiday weekend, as well as being the first Saturday after the 1st of the month, we really didn’t anticipate a lot of activity, so it really was unusual to encounter as many people as we did.
We are extremely excited about the official start of the MLK FAMILY & FRIENDS PROGRAM next Saturday, an have been patiently preparing to roll it out fully. We expect more faces as we will be approaching the middle of the month, so it should serve as a good initial barometer for what to expect with regards to actual participation. Anyway, we will certainly let y’all know how things go. So, have a great week, and we will see y’all in the streets if Vallejo, CA next week!! P.S. Special thank you to the awesome lady who stopped to give us a $10 cash donation. We will certainly put it to good use. 🤗 #ONELOVE❤️✊🏾🖤✊🏼💚✊🏻💛 |
