I used to believe in good and bad luck, but not anymore. The word I think that’s most appropriate for what is termed as luck, is “Karma”! Things don’t always go well, just ask our friends, however, as I’ve grown to know the calming beauty of embracing inner peace, I know that your attitude, more often than not, is your latitude. No matter how bad it seems, if you delve into a negative frame of mind, you will eventually find yourself inundated with negative thoughts. Now thoughts lead to actions, and if they’re negative, one can only surmise that the results of negative actions are negative consequences. I can only use myself as an example, but when I decided to change my thinking, I inevitably decided to change my situation, and therefore my life. I would be lying if I said I weren’t two missed paychecks from being in a bad way, however I don’t focus on that. I focus on pushing it to 3 checks, then 4, then 5, and you probably get where this is going. The point we stress to our friends is that just because your situation is what it is now, doesn’t mean it has to be that way a year, a month, a week, or even a minute from now, because the minute you change your thinking, you change your life course. For example, today I met a guy who has been struggling with his addiction to alcohol. Immediately I felt sincere empathy for him, but not pity. I told him point blank, that I had my own struggles with alcohol for a myriad of reasons, and my drinking was the source of many problems, both legal and personal. Now no judge, no friends, and not even family members could convince me to change. I changed when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. So I told the gentleman as much. Change, true change can only come from within, and as hard as it may be, he must stop making excuses and start making changes. It’s that simple. Sensing that he really needed to talk, I told him that unfortunately I had to go. We had to finish our program, but that if he wanted, we could talk over breakfast tomorrow. He accepted, and it’s my hope that he’s where we agreed to meet tomorrow morning at 10!🤞🏾 If not, I hope he really understands, as we all should, that no one person is better than the next. However, as individuals we must ask ourselves are we better than our situation, and if your answer to yourself is “yes”, then it is incumbent upon you the individual to change it. If you love you, then others will follow your lead!! ❤️🖤💚💛 With that said, we hope you have a wonderful day, and encourage you to treat yourselves and others well. And remember, it cost nothing to simply be kind, and a smile goes a long way!! On that note, Peace, and May God continue to Bless Us All!!✌🏾🙏🏾
P.S. To date the MLK Humanity Project has served 10,370 sack lunches, homemade meals, hot and cold cereal breakfasts, and family packages throughout the Vallejo area. It is our profound commitment to continue to help those who want to help themselves, and those who unfortunately no longer can!! ❤️🖤💚💛
P.S.S. Thank you to all of our donors. We were blessed by a few new and some return donors this week, and it was all right on time. We are always looking for support, however we will always do what we can, with whatever we have!! If you like us, it’s lovely, however, sharing is caring, so help us spread the word!! 🤗 We encourage you to follow us on Instagram and visit our website.
