SACK LUNCH PROGRAM 12/07/2019

This past Saturday was another wet one, and when it’s wet and cold, it’s hard to find our friends. There are certain areas we do venture into for primarily safety reasons, so we do our best to inform our friends via social media, to let them know we’re heading out to serve. After receiving a many inquiries to where we would be when, it’s become evident that we must further ratify the process in a manner that keeps it expeditious and equally as encompassing. It’s important that we keep in contact with our friends, because it offers us more opportunity to help them when they ask, and it also enables us to keep our finger on the pulse of the constantly changing demographics of who we are serving. It’s hard to accurately prepare for what numbers we may encounter, but it’s becoming easier to guesstimate with more frequency. We are in the final month of the year, and we are moving forward with our plans to distribute certain items on a first come first serve basis. With the exception of limited items, the majority of wet/cold weather items will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. Certain transactions will be documented to avoid giving one individual too much of the same item, for example more than one umbrella or coat. As we progress through the remainder of the month, we will certainly be working diligently to ensure that we can do what we can to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters in need. Part of this will include an upgrade to our operational format via fundraising efforts and refurbishment of our website. As we seek out additional storage and support, we assure you that the MLKHP will stay the course, remain fully transparent, and do our best to continue to support our friends, as they work on themselves and their situations. The whole purpose of our project is to “EMPOWER OTHERS TO EMPOWER THEMSELVES”, and by doing so, we hope that they can achieve self sufficiency, and in return show someone else the way out of the rabbit hole!
Have a great week, and we will see you in the streets of Vallejo next Saturday! Peace and God Bless!! ✌🏾🙏🏾
